Sametime is more than just Instant Messaging, and most people who simply use it "out of the box" are missing perhaps 50% of what the product can do. This session is a tour of the toolkits and capabilities of Sametime, as well as an introduction (with demos!) to how to integrate Sametime awareness and other services with business applications. |

Advanced Programming Techniques for Domino/J2EE Integration
More and more Domino developers are being confronted with the need to provide a "story" for integration of their Domino apps with (or migration to) J2EE/WebSphere platforms. This session discusses some of the ways in which Domino can be effectively integrated with J2EE frameworks, and provides detailed coding patterns for using the local and remote Java APIs for Domino from J2EE servlets/JSPs. In order to get the most from this session, attendees should have some experience with Java. |

Authentication and Single Sign-On Overview (Part I)
As Web applications that span multiple server types (such as Domino, WebSphere, Sun ONE, .NET) become more and more common, one of the big issues facing developers is how to make authentication and user log-in seamless across servers. IBM provides an out-of-the-box solution for Domino/Domino and Domino/WebSphere, but what if you're using Domino with something else? This session provides an introduction to SSO: how it is architected and how it is implemented. We will cover such aspects of SSO as Domino DSAPI filters, J2EE plug-ins, and cookie encryption. |

Integrating Domino with WebSphere Portal
Domino developers look to WebSphere Application Server to unblock performance bottlenecks in their Web apps. Many organizations are starting to take advantage of WebSphere Portal to wrap existing Domino and Notes applications in a portal user interface. This session explains the difference between integrating Domino apps with WAS and with WP, and discusses the various "no-code" and "some-code" techniques for "portalizing" Domino apps. |

WebSphere Studio for Domino Developers
WebSphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD) is IBM's premier development environment and toolkit for Java and J2EE applications. WSAD can also be used effectively by Domino developers to create and debug Domino Java agents, as well as to develop and debug more sophisticated "blended" Domino/J2EE applications, without having to actually install WebSphere. This session will tour the major features of WSAD, and demo several useful tools and techniques for Domino and Blended application development. |

hat 10 Jahre als Software Ingenieur bei Lotus Development und Iris Associates gearbeitet. In dieser Zeit hat er die Lotus Notes Back-End Klassen für Lotus Script und Java in Lotus Notes entwickelt und die LotusScript Extension (LSX) Architektur entworfen. Zudem war er Chef-Entwickler für den Domino Agent Manager. Bob hat 1997 Iris verlassen und die Looseleaf Software, Inc., ein Beratungs- und Entwicklungsunternehmen, in Massachusetts gegründet, mit dem er seit dem sehr erfolgreich ist. Bob ist Mitglied der Penumbra Group und Autor für das Notes Magazin "THE VIEW". 1998 hat er das Buch "Programming Domino 4.6 With Java: Groupware for the Internet" geschrieben.
In den letzten Jahren war Bob Balaban wiederholt Keynote-Speaker auf den Konferenzen der DNUG; mehrere ganztägige Workshops zu aktuellen Themen der Anwendungsentwicklung erfreuten sich großer Nachfrage. |
